Make sure to check out Carlina Valenti’s gorgeous art on display this month in our lobby!
"Carlina Valenti is a native Long Islander for whom art has been a life-long passion. The ability to draw came naturally and she practiced painting and drawing constantly, eventually majoring in art at Syracuse University. She worked full-time in the commercial art field for over 40 years, and spent leisure time developing her self-taught watercolor skills.
Her paintings are meticulously rendered realism, loaded with detail. Both photographs and still life set-ups are used and scrutinized to determine the subject matter’s interactions of color, shape, highlight and shadow, and as much of this information as possible (or necessary) is put into each painting, creating a work that is a faithful representation of the subject.
Her work has been accepted in numerous juried competitions, both local and national, garnering many awards, and is in private and corporate collections nationwide. She is a member of the Islip Arts Council and has had group exhibits of her paintings in 1993, 1996 and 1999 at Gallery East in East Hampton, NY. She is currently represented by Gallery North, Setauket, NY, and J. Pocker, Manhasset, NY." (https://carlinavalenti.com/bio/)
